GRAMICCI - Function meets freedom

Founded in the early 1980s by Californian climber Mike Graham, GRAMICCI stands for functional clothing with outdoor DNA and urban appeal like no other brand. The original idea: to design clothing that offers maximum freedom of movement when climbing. This resulted in some real innovations, first and foremost the gusset insert in the crotch and the integrated nylon belt that can be adjusted with one hand. These elements are now standard in many outdoor and lifestyle trousers, and GRAMICCI was the originator. It is no wonder that Gramicci's performance clothing has made it into everyday life thanks to its high quality, practical designs and cool look. Over the years, the brand has developed from a niche label to a permanent fixture in streetwear, fashion and functionality, without forgetting its roots. We compare a few of the Gramicci garments with each other and take a closer look at the classics.

NYLON PACKABLE G-SHORT vs. G-SHORT PIGMENT DYED

Both shorts are based on the classic GRAMICCI design, but differ significantly in terms of material. The Nylon Packable G-Short is ultra-light, quick-drying and packs away into itself, ideal for travelling, summer and exercise. The Pigment Dyed G-Short, on the other hand, is made from robust cotton twill, which is given a unique, slightly washed-out look thanks to special pigment dyeing. Functionality meets casual vintage charm, a question of the area of use: technology or patina?

Nylon Packable G-Short details: 100% polyester, water-repellent, windproof active shell fabric, integrated adjustable belt and waistband, relaxed fit, two front pockets

G-Short Pigment Dyed Details: 100% organic cotton, durable twill fabric, integrated nylon belt, elasticated waistband, diamond-shaped gusset at the crotch, two front pockets, two back pockets

SNAIL TEE vs. STONEHENGE TEE

Both T-shirts rely on high-quality cotton and classic loose cuts, but the highlights are on the back. The Snail Tee plays with a humorous, almost psychedelic snail print, a playful reference to the motto “live slower”. The Stonehenge Tee, on the other hand, takes an iconic motif from world history and combines it with subtle natural colours. The backprints show how GRAMICCI fuses art, outdoor culture and irony into wearable graphics. Gramicci's motifs are colourful and radiate good-mood vibes.

Details for both T-shirts: 100% organic cotton, medium-weight jersey fabric, regular fit, large print on the back

LOOSE TAPERED PANT vs. VOYAGER PANT

The Loose Tapered Pant is a bestseller, made from soft cotton with a comfortable stretch content, it offers plenty of freedom of movement and a modern, tapered leg. The Voyager Pant goes one step further in the direction of techwear: lighter material, water-repellent, often with additional pockets and a sportier cut. If you want more urban, everyday practicality, go for the Loose Tapered, while the Voyager is the first choice for functional adventures.

Loose tapered pant details: 100% cotton, durable twill fabric, elasticated waist, built-in nylon belt, two front pockets, loose fit with tapered legs

Voyager Pant Details: 100% organic cotton, washed twill fabric, large pockets, lower leg pockets, elasticated waistband, diamond-shaped gusset at crotch, relaxed and tapered fit

I CLIMB STUFF SWEATSHIRT

A real statement piece, not just for climbers. The I Climb Stuff sweatshirt combines a relaxed fit, heavy cotton and the self-deprecating slogan on the chest. It perfectly embodies the GRAMICCI spirit: functional, a little quirky and always with a wink. A classic for all those who don't take themselves too seriously, but still mean their outfit seriously.
